In the summer season, travelers have a variety of options for ferry crossings from Athens to Milos. There are typically 2-3 rapid ferries and 2 slower, more economical ferries operating daily. Additionally, there are numerous other routes available from various islands, especally from Cyclades (Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini etc) and Crete.

Prices and ferry schedules can be found here:
https://www.ferryscanner.com/en/ferry/?ref=bluemareapartments&utm_source=vasileioszampakolas&utm_campaign=Ferryscanner+affiliate+program+EN
or here:
https://bluemare.gr/ferry-tickets/

In Greece, ticket prices are firmly established. However, be mindful that some international platforms may offer them at an elevated cost. To secure your ticket for a specific date and time, we invite you to make your purchase through the links above. We assure the most competitive and official prices, sourced directly from the ferry companies in partnership with ferryscanner.com.

During the off-peak season, travellers should have no trouble acquiring tickets. However, we strongly recommend booking their tickets in advance to ensure availability, especially for the high season.

Most companies, including Sea Jet and Minoan Lines, support e-tickets, eliminating the need for physical copies. Travellers can conveniently purchase them and perform self-check-in using their device.

Through the following website, you should be able to check where your ferry is in real-time and any delays:

Venturing to the island of Milos can also be achieved by air. While international flights are not available, daily domestic flights from Athens Airport offer a swift journey of approximately 20-30 minutes. Two esteemed Greek airlines, Aegean Airlines and Sky Express, provide these services. For flight schedules and ticket purchases, please visit their respective websites directly:
https://en.aegeanair.com/
https://www.skyexpress.gr/en
Pickup is available at an extra charge and can be done, but primarily, in that case, you have to contact us for our availability and prices. We strongly recommend renting a vehicle for your transportation around the island.

The distance is about 5,5 km from the port and 9 km from the airport. When driving from the airport, please take the road that leads to Adamantas (or Adamas) which is the port of Milos. From Adamantas, take the road to Plaka, and after almost 2 km (100 m after supermarket Market In), please follow the road signs to Firopotamos (another 3,5 km). There are road signs on all routes, so you can easily make your trip even without the use of GPS.

Be careful, when you approach the houses of Firopotamos, it is important to turn left to go to the parking of the beach, and not to the church side.

You could also set ‘Firopotamos’ or ‘Blue Mare Apartments’ in Google Maps,
or you could check the following video with all routes from the port to Firopotamos.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi that is easily found at the port or Milos airport. You can find taxi phone numbers through our website ‘Home>Milos>Useful Phone Numbers’

The transportation network is very poor, and we strongly recommended that you bring your own vehicle during your stay, or rent one to take advantage of the best way of possibilities that Milos gives for adventure and exploration. Please keep in mind that no buses are coming to Firopotamos.

As the distances in Milos are not long, you will find that it is easy to travel around by car, moto or ATV. ATVs are popular in Milos, but sometimes they are charged like cars and they don't offer same comforts.

We also co-operate with responsible car rental companies. Should you want to rent a car for a great price, please fill in the following form (from our webpage)
https://bluemare.gr/vehicle-form/

and we shall get in touch with you directly with an economic offer from the rental companies that we trust. The advantages are the following:
- Lower prices than their official websites
- They will bring the car to the airport, to the port, or to your house in Firopotamos
- Availability during high season (and off-season)
- No need for any advance payment, you pay on arrival

Please check out this link for more information:
https://bluemare.gr/rent-a-car/

It is very important to book the car the soonest possible, because during summer and especially in high season there is a lack of available cars in Milos.

Other options for transportation are taking taxis, but we don't recommend it as it is more expensive, and they don't give you flexibility.

There are also a few bus routes from Adamantas port, but please bear in mind that they only go to a few places. For bus routes and schedules, please check out the below link:

There is a big public parking place by the beach, just 30 m from the apartment. It can accommodate several cars. It is usually empty except the peak hours of July-August (usually the days with no north wind and when people prefer that beach for swimming). During these hours you can still find parking for sure, but roughly another 50 m further away. From afternoon to next day morning, there is no problem even during the peak periods of the year.
Just drive down towards the beach, park your car at the public parking area, and look at the houses to the left of the sandy beach.

We are located at the penultimate houses – the one with a Greek flag at the top of the house. You can also check photos through our webpage. Last day before your arrival you will get more info about your checkin from us.
Please contact us about your way of arrival, ferry or plane and check-in time at least a day or two before, so that our host representative can await you at the house. There, the keys will be given to you with some instructions and advice regarding your apartment.

There is also an option to get the keys without our presence. Outside of your apartment, there is a key safe box that opens with a code. Your keys will be found there. The code will be given by us during our conversation the day before your check-in.

If we are not available to take the keys back from you on the last day of your stay, you can leave them inside the house on the table or in the key-safe box.
Keep in mind that check-in is at 14:00 or later. Sometimes previous visitors leave earlier and there may be time to clean and prepare the apartment earlier. Please ask us 1-2 days before your arrival should you need to check in or leave your luggage earlier, and we will try our best to accommodate that.

Check-out is latest at 11:00. Late check-out is not available as cleaning personel enters on that time to prepare the house for next guests.

Should you plan to check out earlier, we would highly appreciate it if you informed us about the time ‒ we may be able to help the next guests with earlier check-in should they need it.
The apartment is in a quiet and relaxed place in Milos so there are no tavernas or mini-markets in this region.

Please know that food delivery services, directly to your apartment by the various coffe shops and tavernas in the villages around, are also available. You can find leaflets inside the apartment. They deliver from early morning to the night.

At the beach, there is a canteen that serves coffee, water, drinks, sandwiches, and other foods (but it is not sure that it will be open during all season months, from April to October).

The closest village is about 2 km away from the apartment. There you could find everything such as tavernas, supermarkets, banks, gas stations, etc.

There are 3 supermarkets in Milos that are in the following places. The closest to Firopotamos is 2 km away:
Vidalis Supermarket in Adamas

Market In out of Adamas

Milos is a gastronomic haven, offering an impressive array of dining options to tantalize your taste buds. While some restaurants accept reservations, others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind that during the high season, popular restaurants are nearly full, and you might have to wait in line to secure a table.

Our personal favorites are:
‘O Hamos’ in Adamas (Papikinou beach), Mikros Apoplous in Adamas, 'Yialos' in Pollonia and ‘Medusa’ in Mandrakia (the closest to Firopotamos).
Whilst visiting Milos, it is worth saying that sailing around the island by boat or yacht is quite a unique experience. It is the only way to visit Kleftiko, one of the top 3 places in Milos. You could rent a boat of 30 horsepower, as there is no need for a driving license up to that limit, for half or full day. We own 3 wonderful boats for rent with or without a skipper in competitive prices. You can start your boat trip from Adamas, Agia Kyriaki or even from your house in Firopotamos. For more information, please visit our website:
https://bluemare.gr/rent-a-boat/

There are plenty of other activities that you can do in Milos, on charge or free of charge. Activities such as canoe/kayak,  sightseeing, visits to historical places, exploration, scuba diving, hiking, nudism, horse riding, thermal spas, etc.
For more information, you could search in your search engines, or you can check our webpage
https://bluemare.gr

under the section ‘Location>Firopotamos’, ‘Location>Milos’ and ‘Activities’.

Included in the reservation of the apartment, we also offer you free-of-charge stand-up paddle boards for your adventures into the sea of Firopotamos, including equipment such as fins, life vests and paddles. For more info, please check on our website:

Milos boasts an abundance of swimming spots, offering more beaches than any other island in the Cyclades. To make the most of your beach outings, it’s wise to check the wind direction daily and head to the opposite side of the island. For instance, when there's a north wind, it's better to visit the southern beaches like Agia Kyriaki, Tsigrado, and Firiplaka. Conversely, if there's no wind or a south wind, the northern beaches such as Firopotamos, Sarakiniko, Papafragkas, and Alogomandra are ideal choices.

For those who love exploration and adventure, the old sulfur mines and the beaches of western Milos offer wonderful alternatives.

Renting a boat allows you to visit multiple beaches in a single day, making for an unforgettable experience. We offer this service with our boats, with or without a skipper.

• Inside the apartment you can find a Nespresso machine, a safe box, an outer key safe box, televisions in all rooms (Netflix, youtube, etc), iron, beach equipment and other items. If something is not functioning well or you are unsure of how to use it, please ask us directly, or read our house instruction guide that we will send you during your arrival.
