Welcome!

Nestled among traditional houses by the sea on Milos, one of the most enchanting islands in the Mediterranean Sea, our accommodations offer a unique experience. Firopotamos, the small village where we’re located, boasts a handful of these distinctive fisherman’s houses known as “Syrmata.” These historic structures once served as winter shelters for fishermen’s boats but have now been transformed into delightful vacation homes.

Firopotamos itself is a gem—a picturesque village where colorful doors line narrow streets, and staircases lead down to the charming harbor. The beach, also named Firopotamos, beckons with crystal-clear waters, making it a favorite spot for swimming during the summer months.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️plus! What makes good accommodation, 1. Location 2. Price 3. Service 4. Bedding We stayed in 2 places and viewed the 3rd. Location, was easy for parking and after visiting many other bays felt this was a great hub for exploring each day. The views from all villas were spectacular & amazing at all times of the day. Price, good value for money at Easter. We stayed 11days. We came in April so got to interact with many locals getting their boathouses ready for the tourist season. A lovely village atmosphere. Having an online guidelist of ‘how to & house directions’ was a welcoming addition. We are a couple who travel regularly from Australia so feel we can make comparisons. We would highly recommend, an exceptional experience! Service, we always felt special because whenever we asked for guidance it was done with a smile. We are grateful to the hosts, they went out of their way to make us feel at home, providing ideas, boating options, festivals, walking trails, the local open restaurants, markets-to make the experience even more special. This is what one remembers of a place. Their attention to detail was noted, the place being serviced throughout our stay with new linen, emptying of rubbish, condiments, beds made etc & basic supplies made available. Both places were immaculately kept clean from windows, furniture, floors, mood lamps, humidifier. Providing board/iron, hairdryer, cooking utensils, welcome pack, coffee pod with pods, plus olive oil & balsamic was greatly appreciated so we made Greek salad & ate from the balcony. The paddle boards, games, deck chairs & outdoor setting, 2x tv, snorkelling gear, access to Netflix /&Disney & cold bag for the boat trip were much used. We stayed in two locations. Each outstanding. The compact two level place was more private, allowed for two guest parties or children to have a separate area. The views of the ocean from both beds we woke to each morning. Easy access to the beach. With curtains if you require privacy. They thought of everything with a bowl to wash our feet after being on the beach. The second had a hammock and shady verandah with stairs to get to the beach, but once inside all one level, open & airy with bedroom beach views. It was more open so could be less private to other boathouses but above to watch the tourists below. The third was very spacious and had own bedroom zones but not direct views. The view of the ocean from the dining table was special. I have described the small distinguishing differences between the three, all being outstanding. Good bedding, includes having different pillow weights available to met the needs of the guest. That was a big✅. The hosts really made our first time stay very special. We had at short notice, due to health a year ago pull out! throughout the year we communicated & was booked in 2026. We used their boat without skipper service-provided maps, best time due to weather, detailed handover & facilities including if we got into difficulties. It was a perfect boating day made effortless! Note: We would like to address the one star ⭐️review placed, 9mths ago. We felt it very unfair the comments & are unrealistic! It doesn’t reflect the accommodation & should be ignored. Thanks again, highly recommend.

You will love the hospitality & even more the location of Blue Mare. It is like leaving on a private lagoon. Crystal clear warm water & breath taking views. Words can not describe nor can pics justify. A MUST to visit while in Milos.

The Marinero does not have a front entrance, and you need to enter from the beach side. If you are dressed well, it is quite problematic. The guests must constantly open and close the large barn doors to access the property, with waves splashing water up against you (not ideal if your are dressed for the evening and then walk around in the deep wet sand). The water pressure is weak, the property is poorly lit, so if you arrive in the evening, it is very hard to find, especially since the directions include pictures that will not load because there is no cellular signal down there. The sliding door that is the only access should have a lock on it so you don’t have to close the massive barn doors to access the property. The very tiny bathroom without a real door makes it difficult with a group of 4-5 to share as well. There is much more I can say, but I feel that is plenty. We did not get the same feel of Greek hospitality here than we have in all the other places we have gone in Greece, and that’s disappointing. The apartments are in a very unique location and lend themselves ideally for those seeking a beach experience.
